RV Trip
East bound and down, loaded up and rvin'
Headed to Santa Fe, NM to pick up two dogs. One is a English Bulldog and the other is a Chihuahua. Left at 4:30 PM on Friday and got home at 11:00 AM on Saturday. Meet our daughters to pick them up.
Dani, the youngest daughter, helped me pack the car so we could leave at 4:30. Packed blankets, pillows, jackets, and snacks. Kissed the wife goodbye and verified that the car was all packed. The trip has begun.
Driving to Highway 24 to get on the 202 North, traffic was slow and go. Love rush hour. Ha Ha!! NOT!!! Minor detour as we took the 60 West, rather than stating on 202 North to get off at University Drive. Turned around at Power Road and headed back to the 202 North. On the right path now, heading to Payson.
Arrived at Payson and stopped at Burger King to eat supper and bathroom break. If I had my choice I would eat Burger King over McDonalds. The fries are better and they have onion rings. Enjoyed talking to Dani and eating our Whoopers, fries, and onion rings. Time to hit the road, refill our drinks, and one last bathroom break.
Stopping for gas, bathroom breaks, and purchasing lottery tickets on the way. Lottery was up to 400 million for both Powerball and Mega Millions, of course we didn't win. Better luck next time. Finally, we made it to Santa Fe and texted the girls on a spot. The girls selected the exit and we arrived first and pulled in to the parking lot of a motel. Waiting for them to arrive.
The temperature was down to 27 degrees. This is cold, when you live in Arizona. The girls arrived and let the dogs out to go to the bathroom, while I setup the back of the car with the kennel. Bella, the Chihuahua, was first and the easiest to get in. Moose, the Bulldog, is just that a moose. If he wants to go somewhere he will pull you in that direction. Lifted him in to the back and closed the door. Said our goodbyes and on the road again.
Stop in Albuquerque to fill up and go to the bathroom before making it to the next fill up stop to let dogs out to go to the bathroom and catch a couple of hours of sleep. Have you tried to listen to the radio with a teenager? Well it is not easy, as they like to change the station after every song to see if the song that was just on will be on again or another favorite one. I believe I listen to the same songs over and over for the whole 16 hours. lol Or maybe it felt like it was the same songs. Tried to sleep but it was cold outside and even with a blanket it was still cold. Should have used my pillow but it had the snacks on top and didn't want to spill or make noise to wake the dogs. Time to hit the road again.
Finally at Holbrook and time to fill up again. Daughter slept all the way there to wake up to use the bathroom and go back to sleep once we hit the road again. Dogs started to wake up and need to use the bathroom. Pulled over before Payson and a closed RV park with a sign of a building, stating that a bait shop coming soon. The way it looked, the bait shop will not be coming any time soon. The daughter is now awake and wants Bella up front with her. This made her stop whining. Only a few more hours left to get home. The wife cannot wait until her dog is home.
Almost home and text the wife to let her know that we left Paco's kennel on the side of road with Bella on top. Well, she quickly did a search for us on her phone and found out we were almost home. Guess we should have turned on share location with her to make it seem we were farther out then we were. Sent her a picture of the Chihuahua in my lap, asking if she has seen this dog? And we got the signature emoji from my wife. lol
Finally!!!!!! Made it home and time to unload, so I can take a nap. Wife was waiting for us and had the garage door already open. Guess she is not excited to meet her dog. Opened the back door of the car and put the leash on Moose. Got him down and walked around a little bit before going in to the house. Other dogs were put away so we could introduce them one at a time. Meeting went well but to be safe and allow more time to get along, we put of the gate in the house to keep them separate.
Welcome Moose!!! You will have a busy couple of weeks going to the vet to get your shots and your manhood removed.
